I'm guessing that has to do with your upload speed, I've got a good broadband connection and uploads take about a second. Sometimes, when their servers are busy, it can take as long as 45 seconds (and sometimes doesn't work at all).
Also, if you haven't already, make sure the file format you're trying to upload is allowed on Imageshack, and that you do not have a pop-up blocker that is interfereingsomehow.

Thanks Chef.....I have been usung jpegs...It may have to do with my security internet options......I just want to post my beautiful guns....How about the profile pic? It shows up in my control panel but whenever I post a thread, it does not show up.......

Pictures of 1mb+ realy are not recommended/needed. Trim them down in size and use the 'Forum thum nail code' provided by the hosting service, imageshack offers a number of code options just to the right of every image thats uploaded - its very basic stuff - they request to use thumb nail code for forums to save on their band width.
