Default Best options for mr556 modification to 416

Looking to get my mr556 modified into a hk446:
Vented Gas Block Modification (for can)
    Shorten to 10.4″ and Thread 1/2 x 28
Titanium Barrel Nuts and Gas Pistons
    Barel refinishing

Reached out to investment Grade Firearms a few times and don't really get answers to questions. I hear they are backed up.

Hoping for a quick turnaround, filing tax stamp next week. Used Michaels Machines for a HK11 and had a good experience l, based on recommendations here. Looking for another quality job with a decent turnaround. Searched for recommendations, but would like to hear recent experiences.

TSC Mike Woodward can do most of that. Not sure on the shortening of the barrel. You can always pull your barrel and send it to ADCO also, they have a quick turn around.

Tom Bostic of Tommy built tactical is the man you want. Lightning fast turn around times and he’s easily one of the most well respected builders on this site.

If you've truly got the 416 bug, just bite the bullet and get an actual 416 upper. Pay once, cry once and all that.

After all, nothing is better than the real thing!

There are also US made barrels (HK Parts and Brownells) that you could look into if you're just trying to get the look of the 416... they'd probably be cheaper and faster than turning down a MR barrel.

I know two guys that are willing to sell. Both have registry removal letters.

I did that on a 14.5” and almost did it the other night on a 10.5”, but I want to see how a shortened MR556 does.

Thanks for the help, I ended up purchasing one that was already completed and will just sell my 16inch one. I will share it when it is "out of jail"
