Yes, he is blind. That said blind people are quite astute and posses a quality of touch that sighted people often do not.
My T36s also have the spongy spot but I am not sure this is an issue. They are flawless and I have had no issues as Mr. Bostic is rather punctual in returning comms and has good CS. No complaints on this end.
Curiously watching this thread
FWIW, IMO - the T36 receivers are not as well made a real HK receivers. This is based on nothing more than the "feel" of the plastic. As for the HK receivers I'm speaking of - specifically, a factory HK SL8 receiver, and an HK G36 reweld that TBT/MM did.
How much, if any, this subjective observation makes with respect to real world performance is left to the imagination of the reader.
Own: HK91, SR9, SP5k, G36k, HK416, P30L, P8, 2x P8A1, USP9
Future: Done, until HK comes out with something new & nifty. Might start building an FNH collection.
I don’t see why they wouldn’t be. If it’s Nylon 66, it’s the same stuff. Just like 7075-T6 lowers. Might be manufactured poorly so parts don’t fit, but the properties of the material are the same.

For the OP, contact Tom Bostic, ask him or maybe he will respond here as he is active on this site. He has personally told me that there are some of his T36 guns that are posties at ranges that have exceeded 10k in FA, FWIW.
I worked with Tommy in the past and the G36c he put together is outstanding.
He is very quick to respond if not answer directly and was a gentleman and pleasure to do business with.
To OP I have dealt with Tommy in the past and had 100% great experiences. I would not hesitate to believe that if you got a T36 and there were issues Tommy would remedy it ASAP. FWIW he did the plastiwelds on my two MM G36s and I have ZERO issues.
Though, I still think he was being too nitpicky for a $4000 price differential. $4k will buy you a new stock and some locktite, with plenty left over for hookers and blow.
On an amusing side note, when you watch the video with auto-subtitles (which I do if I am work), it translates the sound from him working the action as "music". That sounds about right to me. :)
