Default 3 Lug device didn't fit on SP5

I*recently purchased an Angstadt arms 3 lug blastwave muzzle device for my HK SP5, to try at the range. It doesnt fit. I cant press it on enough to rotate it. We are talking 3mm approx. I took the thread protector off in case it was interfering. It wasn't. I tried the blastwave on another gun with an InLeadWeTrust 3lug adapter and it fit fine, no effort at all to install. I could depress it and feel the spring pressure. The Angstadt is a No-Go for SP5.

    Just a heads up.

Now that blastwave needs to go on an old school HK factory original three lug (preferably a threaded Navy) to see if it fits. Only way to determin if it’s the SP5 or your blastwave.

When I asked them about it, they said HK has changed the lug dimensions slightly compared to the older barrels they tested with.

That's cool. 👍🏻 I think the design on the muzzle device I picked up is going to be the real problem.

Your can is out of spec. I had the same issue with my EVO 9mm.

Did you try it without the thread protector as well?

^^ If you choose not to return it you might be able to make it work by lightly filing the part of the muzzle device that twists behind the lugs. I've had to do it myself with some stubborn 3 lug products.
