    Default HK P2000 "Perfected"

OK, well my idea of perfected anyway.

What started out as a used HK P2000 V2 LEM in .40:

Is now, HK P2000 357SIG & .40 (Rick Holmes pic, I'm not that talented):

Project stated in OCT (little over 5 months, received it back in APR). I sent Rick at Lazy Wolf Guns my P2K, both barrels and two magazines. Before sending I had already:

    1. Converted to V1
    2. Added HK45C mag release
    3. Added Trijicon HD sights
    4. Added slim slide lock levers

I've carried it for a little over a year, initially in .40, but for the most part in 357S after buying an HK conversion barrel. Once I decided I really liked the P2K and the 357S I planned to make the mods to make it the way I like it. Rick has performed his master reset reduction package for a 3.5lb LEM trigger and also includes an action clean-up. I then had it shipped to Robar for their "Norton Special", in NP3+ which is basically coating everything but the polymer and springs. I also had the spare .40 barrel and mags done. I already have had my HK P30L V0 worked over by Rick, so I knew what to expect as far as the trigger mods. This was another outstanding trigger job...reset is excellent, about the same as my P30L that I use for classes and IDPA, lite LEM is smoooooth. This was my 1st time dealing with the folks at Robar, that also went off without a hitch.

I've now had it back for close to a month and 500 rds of 357S and 100 of .40, as expected zero issues.

Wow, the two tone color scheme gives the P2000 some character.

I was considering changing out my P2000SK slide levers for the slim ones. Do you use the levers in practice or just sling-shot the slide during reloads?

    Mike,

I slingshot..biggest benefit I've found is less of a tendency to ride it and prevent slidelock when empty. I'm now running one of my old P2K levers on my P30L as it's shorter. I'm probably going to buy a set of P30 short levers and have them ground down to "thin". I'm just not a fan of large levers.

Can you tell any difference with the magazine being coated? I know my P2000 has no problem dropping free but my 45CT does and was thinking of getting the mags coated to alleviate the issue. Awesome P2K by the way.

They're definitely "slicker", but my P2K never had an issue dropping mags before coating. Ran a quick test plated VS stock and IF there is a difference I can see it.
