I assume the newer, it is definitely not red.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it's the newer spring. No red paint on spring= heavier spring (same as for VP9 .40). The earlier VP9s used the lighter spring. I am fine with it but there were complaints that the slide could be unintentionally moved out of battery due to the lighter spring.

Thanks for the info, I am learning all I can about the VP series...
I need to borrow a VP40, if it's as soft shooting as they say I may get back in the 40SW realm...

I went shooting with my dad (he is very green to shooting) this past weekend to show him a few things and we broke in our brand new VP9. This was the first time for me shooting it and it was great. We also brought out my parents' Glock 19 Gen3 and my dad was amazed on how much better the VP9 felt in every way. He said it was a softer shooter and fit his hand much better.

I took my new VP9T last week and a buddy of mine had his new G17 Gen 4 w/rmr, I was pleasantly surprised that my HK was as smooth as everyone has claimed as was my buddy who literally put his on the market the next day so he could buy a VP9 and get the awesome 4 mag rebate.

BTW I got my 4 mags in under 4,weeks
