Default Not at all scientific, but interesting observations

I've got a pair of VP9 and a single HK threaded barrel between them. So I bundled them all up, with some ammo, and headed to the range.

Standing, freestyle, 7 yards, one inch circle on 8.5x11 page. Yes, I'm shooting low, because I'm very much used to a 6 o'clock hold. Ammo was WWB 115gn FMJ. Weather was mid 90s, wind 10-15mph from the south. They were shot: stock, threaded, stock, threaded, 12 rounds each string

First up, #21 stock: The dispersion was very much due to the nut behind the trigger.

    Next, #21 threaded

    Then, #45 stock:

    And #45 threaded:

I was surprised to see that one pistol shot better with the stock barrel and the other shot better with the threaded barrel. And the worst group of the bunch was the first group of the bunch, but the third pistol I'd shot during that range session. The results are interesting enough to where I plan on getting some decent ammo and doing a legit accuracy comparison.

I'm not a professional, and I didn't try this at home.

Are they both regular non threaded models and a purchased threaded barrel?

Yes, both are standard models and I swapped the stock barrels for the threaded barrel.

I wonder if a factory Tactical would shoot groups closer to your stand VP9.

That's a plan, as is using better ammo than Walmart's finest Winchester White Box.

Groups that size at 7 yards doesn't really say anything about the mechanical accuracy of the guns.

will definitely be interested in seeing the results with better quality ammo.
maybe consider testing with both supersonic and subsonic rounds? If you can swing it, using Federal Premiums quartet (P9HST1,2,3,4) of rounds would be an interesting experiment, although it'll wind up with a 4x4 matrix of testing results.

just how far down the rabbit hole are you willing to go? :D

Wanna come to Liberty Hill and help me do more in depth testing? We wouldn't have to drive to Lakeline for Longhorn, since there's one open in Cedar Park now. ETA: I'm referring to a meet up via another forum a few years back just in case someone might take this the wrong way.
