A little of topic but what are people using for sub's, brand and grain wise? ... Also, would you shoot suppressed out the gate on new weapon or wait a certain amount of rounds? Have a feeling answer to the latter will be on the lines of @hk21man 's post earlier but still would like reassurance. I'd like to go out my back door and not bother my neighbors/draw attention if at all possible....

edit: I shot my SOT's AR 9mm FA with S&B 150 Grain with my can and like the sound of those. They were 150gr.

I run Fiocchi 158gr through mine. I have yet to experience any issues running suppressed.

When I brought it home, I replaced the castle sight with a diopter, zeroed it with 115gr, then when straight in to running suppressed.

I ran mine with all types of factory and reloads. It gobbled it all up. From 115 to 147 gr. Lead to hollow points. Low powder charge to higher powder charge. For shits and giggles I ran a couple magazines of my rejects from case checking. It ran them all with no issue. My advice: don’t overthink it. Load what you have and shoot it. Fantastic gun.

I never get tired of seeing the SP5 and SP5k. I'm glad you enjoy them just as much as I do.

So I have an SP5 on its way to my FFL and should be ready for pickup in 2 days. I'd like to ask those that have HK MP5 / SP5 if there is a rule of thumb as to what AMMO to run through it during the break-in procedure?
I've been told to run about 500 rounds through it and I'm hearing mixed ideas as to some people saying run 147gr and others to run 124gr, and some saying subsonic others the contrary.

Is there a proper procedure recommended by HK?

As of right now, I have a Thousand Rounds of:
CCI Blazer Brass 9mm Luger Ammo 124 Grain FMJ
Federal American Eagle 9mm Luger Ammo 147 Grain FMJ
PMC Bronze Handgun Ammunition 9mm Luger 115 gr FMJ 1160 fps

Any of these recommended over the other to do the first 500 rounds breakin (assuming 500 is the approximate count)?

Is there a recommended procedure as to how many rounds to shoot before cleaning and running remainder of the rounds? I ask as I've seen comments of people saying run a 1x 30round mag then strip clean lub and then run 2x mags and so forth.
I'd really like to hear your thoughts. I just want to do it the right way or what is best recommended.

Thank you in advance, I'm super excited to have this baby in my hands.

    Best Regards,
    Michael

Folks, y'all are overthinking this stuff. Buy commercial grade ammo, and go shooting. Break in for HK is a myth. Go enjoy your new amazing toy!

No! Shoot subsonic for max quiet with suppressor, otherwise, blast away! This is not a delicate two stroke engine that needs careful attention in infancy. Go shoot your HKs and be happy!!
