Default Changes to RI State Gun Laws

i've heard a rumour that our state legislature is planning massive changes to our current state gun laws but haven't been able to fun anything to substantiate it in the news. anyone here know if it's true. from what i was told the plan is to introduce mandatory registration and $100 yearly fee per firearm. the person i've heard this from isn't the most reliable but isn't one to just completely be disregarded. in the current political climate i'd rather he be wrong but want to do everything in my power to fight such laws from coming to fruition if the rumour proves to be true.
