Default New Leather for my EDC P7M8

A while back I realized my 20 year old DeSantis OWB pancake holster was looking a little long in the tooth. It is still fully intact and comfortable as all get out but definitely in need of a refresh. So, should I put lipstick on a pig or get a new pig? Turns out I opted for a new horse(hide)!

Not wanting to wait 3-4 years I ordered a Country Boy OWB in horsehide from Ryan Grizzle leathers out of Georgia. It arrived recently after only 3 months and is a perfect fit. Great quality, detailed stitching and buttery smooth draw from a snug fit.

Here is a before and after.

    The old.

    And here is the new.

Thanks for the info. I have yet to find a holster I like for my p7m8. I will definitely look into this company in Georgia, as I like outside the waistband for concealed carry. Right now, the m8 I use goes in the pocket.

New holster looks faster -- nice upgrade. Thread belongs in The Saddlery.

It looks good but also looks like retention is minimal with the amount of leather holding the pistol. Did I guess correctly?

It’s my CCW holster and is a molded friction fit to the specific pistol which is worn under a cover garment with a stiff 14oz Hank’s Gunner belt. I’ve never had it pop out or come loose in the holster, but its not designed to go hands on like with a duty rig.
