The last time I looked at armslist I sent them three fraudulent adds with the links to the picture source from gunbroker... they did not remove the adds. I have not been back and that was a few years ago.

One got my Brother yesterday. The scammer said they were going to send a confirmation code to make sure that my brother was not a scammer. A minute or so later a google G-code came through so he sent it back, not realizing what it was. I would guess they used my bro's phone number for a new account since he doesn't have gmail but beware.

While it is not always the case, there are some things you can look for to determine if you're dealing with a scammer. One of the easiest on Armlist is looking at their "Registered on" date. Scammers RARELY have anything more than a month or so old. Stay away from unregistered buyers altogether.

The Mk23 might actually be OK. They registered back in 2013. I would reach out and ask for an additional picture "Hey man, could you send me a pic of your Mk23 in your fridge?" If you get one back, you are probably good to go. I also recommend using an FFL as an escrow. A few more steps, but much safer.

The gun, 9 mags, and a piston for $1500? Sounds too good to be true at that price-point.
