Default This SP5: Another Shill bid?

Whats going on with this SP5? Looks like shill bidding has struck again. What gets me is who the seller is, CDNNSPORTS. They state it's a BK date code but gun clearly shows CA and they don't show pic of box date. If they are behind it, shame on them. Mainly 2 guys bidding up and 1 just registered yesterday.

Looks like it. Just buy one from a gun store/site. You aren't going to save any money bidding for these.

Yeah......I'm calling BS on this one too. What do you want to bet that this never gets paid out?

    What A$$holes. $5128 for a $2500 pistol???? Common man.

CDNN used to be a big distributor of really cool stuff. When the assault weapon ban was enacted, CDNN sold "Post Ban" PE57s and SIG 550s.

I don't know why there's so much shadyness on Gunbroker. If the two guys who are driving up the bidding are in cahoots, what do they get out of it? Surely there's no real customer spending $5k on that gun.

The shill bidder's purpose is to drive up the final auction price to where the Seller wants it. Its a real sad tactic used by some no reserve auction Sellers. The lure is the no reserve low starting price..i.e. the chance to get it for under FMV. The Seller gets a ton of interested potential bidders who may end up bidding against each other and driving up the price. The shill bidder is used to make bids to ensure his Seller gets his minimum price.

In some rare cases, the shill bidder wins the auction because the price wasn't high enough for the Seller. In that case the Seller cancels the sale, avoids the GB fees, and ends up relisting it sometime later, sometimes under a different username.

I am glad it backfired on this one. When I get bid against by what I suspect is a shill bidder, I never bid again
