Default USP Elite 45 Does this sound like a scam?

I like how the deal sounds, but there are a few things that are making me nervous.
Thanks in advance for your detective work.

    John

    First, it is on armslist
2nd, the armslist account was started 2 weeks ago
3rd, The email address is gmail.com address
4th, when I asked the guy where in the state he was located, he said he will only ship, and did not answer what city.

    Things that seem ok:
1 I couldn't find the images on a reverse image search
2 the guy offered to ship it from his FFL to me.
3 A new one on GB is as little as $899 delivered, and he wants $500 for this used one. That seems about what a dealer would offer, and certainly more than a pawn shop would offer.
4 It was listed on 7/4/20

Here is our conversation so far, I have attached the pics I have received up to now:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Individual but I will have it shipped through my ffl dealer if that cool by you?

Sounds like a scam especially at that price. Ask for his FFL's name and phone number and business name. Look them up online. Contact them and ask for their FFL license number and cross reference them through the ATF FFL lookup database. It's free.

Also you can do as others on the forum have suggested In the past. Have him send you a picture of the pistol with a piece of paper with your email address on it as proof of life.

Have him drop it at his FFL after you verify and then pay him.

With the hard case $500 would be a VERY good deal.

Too many red flags. FWIW I would not buy. Err on the side of caution on this one.

I thought I searched all closed auctions' pictures. Must have missed that one.
You nailed it. Knew it was too good to be true.

Wonder if I should waste his time and ask for his FFL's name and get a copy of the FFL?
I could tell him i sent a check, then after a few days wasting his time send a link to the closed auction?

Or i could just report him on Armslist.

Amazing! How did you do that, every time I copy and paste a pic in google it comes up with nothing.
    Sorry for the rookie question.
Feel free to pm me if its easier.
