Default WTB: bolt head from HK91 w/polygonal barrel

From over the years its been mentioned that only a couple hundred HK 91's were imported for sale with polygonal barrel. Such weapons
came with a very distinguishable bolt head. Simply put, the bolt face while being larger to accommodate .308 ammo looks like a .223 bolt face
in that it has a raised circle around the firing pin hole.

If anyone happens to have a 91 bolt head like that and wants to sell it please contact me with pics and asking price.

You are probably right!! But, like my old boss was fond of saying, "It never hurts to ask, and who knows, you might get lucky"

I think I have seen Hk91 polys in good to very good shape for $3,500 but its been a few years since I have seen one.

Tony might have an handle on that question. I have always hear in was 200 or less but I not sure how that number was derived.
It was only offered as an HK option for a couple years.

The HK91 "polygonal" barrel was offered as an option (and at a lesser price that the standard barrel) from 1974-1979 (last Price List for the option was March 1, 1979)!!!
The highest SN that I am aware of for a polygonal barrel is A017724 (HK/79).
I have heard of the 200 being manufactured, but with that configuration being offered as an option, I have not been able to confirm.

    Hmmm,
Anybody ever tried to instruct a parent on inspecting a firearm you left regarding a rather esoteric feature over the phone...
Dad's pretty intelligent and somewhat gun savvy... but after having him go through a couple parts kits I had sent to ME care of him because of CA's silly posterior capacity ban (back before freedom week) I don't think I'm up for broaching this topic even in terms of photographs.
