I don't see it on Franklin Armory's website, but I did find a blurry photo from SHOT on their facebook page:

People have posted questions about price and availability, 'They'll be here soon" is what Franklin Armory says. As GTPprix says, you can see the H&K with a metal semi-marked housing, and you can see the switch in the full-auto position. Very interesting!

As far as AR's go, yeah, the Fostech Echo requires a proprietary bolt carrier, but had the advantage of being a drop-in pack vs. Franklin's Binary Fire System which required a more involved installation. I guess the Franklin BFS doesn't require a unique bolt-carrier because they only have 1 sear. It's my understanding the Fostech Echo has a secondary sear which prevents the hammer from following when the trigger is being pulled quickly during enthusiastic mag-dumps. The 3rd gen BFS has had some changes made to help prevent this from happening, but doesn't have a sure-fire way to prevent it from happening, and that said, from what I've read out-running the hammer on the BFS 3rd gen is now more-or-less a non-issue. I've never used either system, but I've been following both for awhile now.

There was an older thread where the possibility of either Franklin or Fostech making a binary firing system compatible with H&K's was discussed before any formal announcement was made. At the time it was speculated that Franklin would develop a system for H&K roller-locks & clones, and Fostech would be producing a system for AK's. The thread can be found here: https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-clone-...-mode-mp5.html

Hopefully the BFS III being made for the roller-lock system is just a drop-in pack! Not sure if it'll be compatible with only SEF housings or also with Ambi. Time will tell I guess : ) Either way, I think this is very good news. Some people have knocked them as being a gimmick or unreliable, but I think they look like a great way to have some serious range fun for those that can't shell out for a real MG. If anyone else has any details, I'd love to know.

Heck, I own a sear and I might pick one up, just to have another option for my hosts.

Though, I don't know that I want to be a first adopter. I was one of the first batch of buyers for the Franklin BFS for the AR platform (before they required the guns to sent in and installed by them), when they were touting it as "drop in". After a ton of trouble getting it running in my Spikes Tactical lower, involvement of my local 07/02, and worthless calls to Franklin for Support, they finally told me that I needed to pay for installation and have them do it.

I promptly sold my BFS to someone else (who, ironically, put it into his Anderson lower and got it running with no difficulty on the first try).

I emailed Franklin last night asking if the third generation eliminated the hammer following the bolt problem. They indicated that the buffer spring they included was to address that. Sounds like it might still be possible, but none of the gen 3 reviews complained about it so in practice it might be solved.
I'm honestly much more interested in an HK trigger. I eventually want to get an AR one but I'm still undecided about which version to get.

The echo only requires the proprietary carrier to take advantage of the hammer catch so you don't get hammer follow.

That's good to know. When I heard the Franklin was going to announce two new BFS at Shot Show a couple days ago, I decided to wait to see
what they were going to bring out.

Bump because my google-fo lead me to this thread. I can't wait till we have more details. I assume this will be around $400 just like the AR trigger. If this function better then my slide fire I will be happy. I like the ability to dick around and dump a mag but still be able to shoot semi without the goofy stock.
