Default Looking for the correct rivet for wooden hand guard.

Almost have my MP5 wood set completed, I could use a rivet for the rear hand guard metal to wood.
Not sure which one i need, and will I need a special tool to set it?
Or is there an alternative to the rivet?

    Thanks, Randy

Not to hijack this thread, but do you know anybody who can make a 33/93 handguard?

    Rando,

Can't you measure the hole and then just look at 'metal rivets' from a machine shop supply company. And at the very least to set the rivet, some form of 'anvil' supporting the inside while you put some form of 'rivet tool' and then hit it with a large hammer?

I have not done this myself, but those would be the steps I would start with. And then be prepared to modify your techniques as needed.

I have seen one member who did this a couple of years ago. Perhaps you could search?

I bought a literal ton of equipment from a machine shop auction a few years ago and one of the things it came with were tool boxes full of almost every different type of rivet and clothing snap and buttons ever made along with multiples of their forming tools. Its what the shop did as their primary work. I couldnt bring myself to trash it all cause its honestly got some cool items in there.

Post a picture of what you need and ill see if i have it, if i do we can work somthing out.
