Default WTB: P7 any variant, 8/82 stamped, if possible

    Hi,

Looking for a P7 any variant. Im hoping if I look long enough I can end up with one on my birth month and year (8/1982)!

    Thanks for the help!

An IC date code would indicate 1982 production if you did not already know that.

    Thank you!

I see some also have the date stamped on the slide, was that only during a specific period of time or importing?

There are commercially imported P7's that were imported for sale when new in the USA. There are also previously used and traded in Police models that were imported starting in the mid to late 2000's that all have import marks on the left of the frame. The imported pistols were often graded A, B, or C.
The white background shows an imported P7. The black background is a commercial P7.

@hkpsp if I purchase a P7 that needs refinishing, can the import mark be removed?

Upon investigation today, the answer is yes. As long as the serial number stays.

Of course, depending on who you choose to do the refinishing - they may opt to play it safe (their prerogative).

Yes, I have used Ford's for a couple of P7's. They can duplicate some of the markings, although not the same size or exact replications of the original. A couple of years back I had some issues that required two trips back to correct the finish and requested markings. After that the firearm did not function correctly before having a gunsmith fix it.

Recommend finding one with original finish and factory markings to your liking. Would also advise against refinishing them based on my personal experiences.
