Thumbs up MueveloNYC coming to Seattle

Hey guys... I'll be in Seattle from the 18th - 24th. Any good ranges around the greater Seattle area or Renton suburb? Preferably someplace with good rentals, or clay/outdoor rifle range. Still debating whether to bring my gun or not, or just apply for CCW while I'm there. (any tips on what the process is?)

I'll probably need to kill 1/2 a day while my wife goes nuts shopping at Nordstrom rack. LOL

The closest Renton indoor gun range is Champion Arms. I personally prefer Wade's indoor range in Bellevue (just east of Seattle).

I've only shot clays in the Southend (Puyallup/Sumner), which might be too far away. But I think the "closest" for Renton will be Renton Fish & Game Club. You'll have to decide how far you are willing to travel.

If you want to shoot HK's, bring your own gun. The nearest HK pistol rental is in the South Tacoma/Puyallup area.

Here's a good website listing all available ranges.

As for applying for a CCW permit, you'll have to apply at a county sheriff office. For Seattle/Renton, that would be King County. Here's the website with some info. They mention it may take up to 60 days.

    Enjoy your visit.

There is a shoot on the 19th but it's about 2 hours south of Renton.

If you want to hit the indoor pistol range in Puyallup next week, let me know. ;)

Thanks for the info guys... I might have to check that out.

For the CCW I'm planning on brining the following: (any idea if I need any more than this?)
    - NYC Driver's License
    - CCW Pistol Class certificate
    - Current NYC Pistol License
    - Florida CCW Permit
    (maybe passport to prove citizenship?)

I'll probably not bring my own pistol since I don't have CCW and it'll take 60 days to mail it out (and I only plan on shooting one day, and to go through the hassle with the TSA in NYC wouldn't be worth the paperwork for one day).

Renton Fish and Game looks pretty promising...

EDIT: crud... looks like they don't rent any firearms there though. DOH!

    CPL info:
    http://www.dol.wa.gov/business/firea...oncealreq.html

The Marksmen in Puyallup has the most HK pistols for rent but they are an indoor only, 50 ft pistol range.

Wades rents out rifles and has an indoor rifle range.

    Cool

Have fun while you're here Mue -

I would love to join you guys but I'm pretty busy at work these days.

PS. There's a Nordstrom Rack in Factoria (Bellevue) at I-90/I-405 and Wade's is a 5-10 min drive north of there. It's not the cleanest place to shoot, but it's okay. Their selection is a bit standard but every now and then, they'll have something fun to shoot.

    Take care,
    -Nick

I haven't had any trouble traveling. In Washington you don't need a CCW, unless you conceal on your person.

yeah - but to take my firearm out of state via airplane there's paperwork that needs to be done as well as a bunch of clearance steps. To just do that for only one day of shooting wouldn't be worth it. If I could CCW, I would definitely bring it as I do for other states I can CCW when I travel.

Thanks guys. Wade's it is then as they can drop me off, go shop, and come pick me up. LOL
