I don't have any personal experience with these, so don't take this as the gospel. But I've heard many times that the springs not holding up as long is an issue on the clear mags much more so then the standard USP mags.

There's a steel liner in the top inch or so of the mag. I've been shooting USPSA for over a year with mine, so they get dropped and abused quite a bit. No problems yet, other than when I dropped one in some talcum-powder like dirt.

Plastic is never going to be as durable as steel.

But it would appear that HK has fixed that particular problem. I've babied my mags too much to test the issue of dropping them. I only drop them on grass and carpet. At ~$55 a pop, I'm not risking breaking something that doesn't need to be broken.

And I don't think the white mags are more prone to weak springs. But I'd like to see the evidence that says so.
