Hey guys just found this on gunbroker and wanted the opinion of some of you pros before I bid. Everything seems correct but could one of you who has one compare it to yours and tell me if this is real or if anything is missing?

Auction is titled "H&K 416 10.3" Upper / lower complete parts kit HK" and I've never heard of a 10.3 ...... Thanks for all you help!

Well it's a dealer sample and it reads as he is willing to sell the upper and other 416 parts less receiver to the highest bidder. The upper receiver does have the 88 prefix so it is indeed a HK416. Feel free to bid, but don't be disappointed when you get outbid. Those HK416 parts kits go for a premuim.

also, he states the 10.3 upper is rare??? to my knowledge the 10 inch uppers are the most common 416 uppers to come into the US... the 14.5's were more rare/fare fewer....

Awesome guys thank you so much. I'm been hunting for one forever but am pretty petrified on buying a clone or a fake especially when dropping that type of coin. Speaking of what would be a reasonable expectation for it to go for Oicani? I've got about $3500-4000 to spend but the one above it without the lower parts kit has a buy it now for $9k :/

That 9k upper DOES come with the FULL Parts Kit except SEAR.. Read full description and look at pics.. It is also an extremely rare upper!!

@Toady: I'd say your best bet is the one without the BCG or HG. In your price range and you can buy the missing BCG and HG parts. AF is best you're going to do on your budget.

And yes I've bid on the othe AH on GB to which you refer above.

Also there is a BCG for sale in Parts and Accessories. mj06iu is selling it.

Thanks for all the help fellas this is an awesome forum and you guys have been quite kind with all the assistance. Ive actually got some more cash I can throw at it (had just set aside for optics but that can come later). What should I look to spend on an AH? $5500-6? I'd prefer a complete kit since if I'm going to drop the coin I'd want all original and matching parts so the kit seemed the best way to go. Is there a place I can find a list of the differences between date codes?

Also apologies JNAP94, I meant no offense by my ignorance and was not trying to insult what I assume is your auction. What is the benefit of the vented gas block? Is it worth the extra money and should I just save towards that instead? Or can I buy the block and modify another upper?

Appreciate the help and knowledge!

$5 to 6K for an AH 416 upper is fair IMO. Any 416 upper is hard to come by and certain configurations do command a premium. Put up a WTB ad and see what comes your way. Occasionally the seller needs the cash ASAP and is willing to let it go for less than market value.
