Am thinking about buying a used USP 40 Expert- feels great, but when I try to decock the web of my hand on the right prevents the action (executed with thumb on left ) because the right handed lever. Can this control lever be changed for just a left sided lever like on standard V1 USP's?? Or can the right lever just be removed. ( by user?)? Any experience with this? Thanks for your response

Yes,

You can get a single sided control lever for it. It is the same lever on all V1´s (with the exeption of the Compacts of course, they fit but are smaller).

If you ride the safety which ensures the highest grip possible on the gun, you will want to keep the ambi safety since it prevents you from accidentally decocking while firing.
