Soooo...as some (or all?) Of you have seen, I have intense interest in the FDE HK45c group buy...I have never cared for a colored frame on a handgun but Navyman's FDE compact idea caught my attention...I have been sitting on the fence about it, since the purchase will wipe out my Gun Fund for quite a while...

Here's where the dilemma comes in...I found out that Mas Ayoob will be in Cedar Rapids IA teaching MAG20 in the Fall, and I have been told I have to choose--the group buy or taking the MAG20 course--it is being taught by Mas himself--but not both

Tell me guys, what would you do in this position?

To whom it may concern start rounding up homeless people get them to the blood bank split their take don't sell the usp 40 mag to anyone but me if it a wife issue take her to a nice dinner of her choice and give her a girls night/weekend and then get your bags packed.
1 you worked extra hard to earn the right for both and shared the profits with her
2 she had some time with her friends
3 and if that doesn't work do the group buy send it to a friend/ go to the shoot when you come back start saving for jewelry buy her some and find that so and so got one and he doesnt like it and is going to sell at a discount since its already paid for that money then goes for ammo mags holster ect....

Sell some organs, they don't have to be yours. Or you know lie. Or be a responsible adult and tell your other that these two things mean a lot to you and you'd really appreciate it if you could do both hopefully finding some sort of compromise to sweeten the deal. But what do I know.

LOL...thanks for the comedic approach guys...it does help lighten a tough call--it wouldn't be half a difficult if the deadlines for both weren't stacked on top of eachother....scraping together what extra I can and selling anything that's not nailed down on Craigslist lol....

Are you looking to do the shooting and the lecture?

I predict a lot of regret on this forum by folks who are gonna pass this group buy up. I tried my best to pass but it sucked me in. Just the thought of seeing every one posting pics and talking about their group buy guns is more than I am prepared to handle. I guess I'm saying buy the gun. Classes come and go. This is a one shot deal.

FWIW, I plan on attending the lecture, if you were looking to do both the lecture and the shooting....now this is just a stretch...

Get the gun, take the lecture only. I'll drive or you can drive and we can split gas, get the gun and at least part of the Ayoob thing.

You save on ammo, and travel or hotel by doing one day only and splitting the gas.

If that's not good comprise, I don't know what is.

If you buy an object, it can be removed from you but the training and education is something that you can share and pass along and can never be lost. Can you not acquire the firearm later if you take the class? Must the class be taught by only Mas Ayoob?

Appreciate that JD...but I'm only a half hour from Central City down here and the getting there isn't such a problem as footing the bill for both--however some good news on that front too since she got a better job in her field and they had her start today! Issue may have resolved itself...time will tell

The Group Buy funding is due October 1...the Mag20 is the same month which means I'm double dipping to do both...I have a headstart on the Group Buy but the class is still a few hundred bucks extra and a weekend off work...the group buy is for literally a once-in-a-lifetime but so is the chance to learn from Mr. Ayoob himself, its like learning to shoot distance from Chris Kyle...

Totally agree with this. Good luck waiting for one of these to pop up in the classifieds..

Totally agree...which is why its a tough call...as I said hoping that the wifes new job makes balancing both easier...Mas Ayoob teaching a class in Iowa isn't an everyday occurence either; wish the timing was better!
