With a little help from others here we can see if the p30 is designed for the S&W 40!

A double stack of 9mm measures 0.735" (By Calculation).
A double stack of 40S&W measures 0.793".

A P2000 9mm mag. measures 0.875" width over the metal body.

If this is the same as the P2000 40 S&W mag. and the P30 mag.'s measure about this width or greater then it is designed to handle the 40S&W.

Please measure your P2000 40 S&W magazine width over the metal body, as well as those lucky enough to have a P30 (Width over the mag. metal) and post the data here. If all of these dimensions are at or about 0.875" then the P30 was at least designed to handle the 40 at the magazine level.

This idea comes from geometric calculations of stacked cylindrical bodies and the observation that P30 mag.'s appear to have about the same depth of grooves on the side of the magazine as the P2000 9mm.

I will explain the math if anyone wants the data, but all we need are mag. widths to see if the design accommodates the 40S&W.

One test I read on the P30 9mm, said the mag well has some heavy ribbing in it, the tester thought it was to strengthen the grip frame area for the .40sw cartridge.

Stop calculating and measuring.
The P2000/USPc 9mm mag and the P2000/USPc 40 S&W mag fit in the P30. The width is the same, they are just too short.
So the P30 frame is designed to handle both. I´m pretty sure the P30 will come in Cal. 40S&W like the P2000/USPc.

And: you can use the P30 15 rds mag in your P2000/P2000SK/USPc !!!!!
Good things come to those who wait, there´s mag interchangeability between the HK pistols.
