Another ring height question

I have been scouring here and on the internet trying to figure out if I should buy high or extra high rings for my PTR91. I have a Vortex viper pst 4-16x50 30mm scope that I am trying to mount on my PTR. I also have the B&T universal mount and will be using the Magpul prs stock. Was planning on ordering some Burris XTR rings but not sure if the high or 3/4" will clear the rear sight or not but also want it low as possible. Any help greatly appreciated!

Sure you want to mount a scope that long? Seems to me it would block the cocking handle.

The way I did it was to figure out the center-line of the scope rings. Then figure how much the eye piece drops below that center-line. Measure the height of the iron sights. The height of the eye piece over the rail minus the height of the iron sight above the rail is your clearance.

Thanks for the reply and yes it's a little large but does barelt fit behind the charging handle. It also a scope that I happen to already have. There is a guy over in thehighroad that has the almost identical setup except he is using the MFI mount with weaver tactical rings. Tried pming the guy and even reserected the year old post to try and find out what ring height he used but he is MIA and hasn't posted in over a year year there. Here is a pic of his setup and also a link to the thread.

Although that is a nice set up, it looks like the iron sights are blocked. If that doesn't bother you then go for it.

What I did was use an IOR Valdada riser with medium EGW rings. Nice and solid and the riser is see-through. Matched up perfect with the sights. Scope is a Vortex Viper HS 2.5x10x44.

The welded rail is probably a little lower than your MFI low mount. That is why I suggested measuring before you commit to buying. Don't have a close up sorry.
