Holy crap, how expensive are these things going to get? I bought mine late in the game, eight years ago for $12k. They are now around $32k-$34k, from what I've seen on sub guns. If they get any more expensive, I could sell it and pay off the national debt.

I thought some of the recent appreciation was due to 41P, but so far prices seem to be holding. The moves up seem a bit uneven -- little move on Thompsons and M16s but HK conversions tracking with MACs (on a percentage basis) and a bit ahead of Uzis. I think there is resistance at 35k, at that point there are a lot of competing "toys" to attract disposable income.

Yah but the competing toys are just that, toys. If you think of societal economic collapse, then you think HK.

Sear anxiety for me came from shelling out all that money and then waiting several months for the transfer. I'm glad the wait is over, but kind understand what you mean as I'd like to get a RDIAS in a year from now. May just have to settle for a register receiver.

I think it will reach $40K by next year making today's sear price... true bargain.
This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sear/MG Anxiety has been around since the 80's ask any of the Old Timers........And to the guy who said it becomes a 50 part after the economy collapses Eh I say it becomes the new Brick of Gold along with all ammo and guns........

I think it's slowed down in the past month or two. I remember logging in and seeing that the prices had been pushed up again by Frank, etc. almost weekly. It was a game of "what's the going rate this week?" They've been hovering in the $32-34k range for a while now I think

I would respectively disagree on slowing down but would agree on your plain sear prices, Ruben just sold a MP5K with sear for $41K NFA Firearms Ads and a Trigger pack with MP5Kgun for $42k NFA Firearms Ads both within a couple of days of listing and he just listed another K Gun/with Sear for $43K NFA Firearms Ads if anything the price is steadily rising...............3 examples got listed recently for no reserve which should give us a Market Price indication or close to it see http://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-heads-up/275666-hk-mp5-registered-s-h-sear-no-reserve-bin-38k.html

I'd take $35K in ammo, food, gasoline, diesel, propane and a few more guns over FA in that case. Don't get me wrong, it would be a fun range toy, but especially in an environment where ammunition is in limited supply I'd be shooting semi anyway.

If a sear was $5K or under I think I'd get one, but paying what they go for is something I can't even wrap my mind around. That much cash can get you things that are way more fun and in today's political climate, I'm not so sure it's a very safe 'investment', even if that's what you tell the wife. If I had any that I had paid much less for at some point in the past they'd be on the market fo sho.

I find comments like this funny. Doomsday prepper much? Is your favorite movie The Book of Eli? A societal economic collapse where you need weapons to fight off the masses will not ever happen; at least not in our lifetime. So that makes GPSIGs comment all the more valid. 35k is a ridiculous amount of money to spend for a "part." There are a lot of things you can do or buy with 35 thousand dollars.
