Anybody know IOR M2 scope?

Guys. I'm thinking of an IOR Valdada scope for my 93 in the claw mount setup. It is a straight tube, 4x magnification scope with a bullet drop compensator cam on it.

Anybody have any experience with these scopes?

Can you think of a better scope for this use which is short enough not to foul the cocking handle?

Thanks.

I have(on a 93) the IOR 1.5x8 and its a great scope, built like a tank with great optics
I recently picked up a 4x14 and think it is excellent. I also own Ziess, Leupold and Burris. Zero Parallax, excellent light gathering properties and super sharp resolution. I'll be buying more.

I have an M1, and had an M2 on an AR-15. They are great scopes, but the short eye relief, shortness of the scope, and the large section in the center of the scope made the M2 a poor candidadate for an AR-15 optic, because the scope could not be mounted far enough back to be shot comfortably. I imagine that the mounting issue would be a bigger problem on an hk93. These are fine scopes, but I'm not sure what platform would work well with the M2.

This is my M1 on a .308. The scope looks like it's mounted pretty far back, but this was necessary for proper eye relief. I couldn't mount the M2 this far back without a rail extension.

Thanks guys for the response.

The rings will only accommodate a 30mm tube, so that 1.5-8x scope won't work as it is too large.

Does this mean an IOR scope, and were you able to mount it in the 30mm claw mount on your HK93 and have adequate clearance etc. for it? Thanks for the help!

I looked at your setup, and yes, it does look as though it is mounted a bit far to the rear. When I shoot from prone my face is pretty much right on the hump at the joint of the buttstock and the endcap. As it *looks* to me, your setup must be set up for benchrest or something as the stock looks very short. Do you suppose from a prone position you could mount your scope further forward? AZShootist, how far is it, measured from the insides of the rings, between them. Stated differently, how large is that center section on your scope, and do you suppose that the M2 is pretty much the same in outer dimension? When you say that you couldn't mount the M2 this far back without a rail extension to me that implies that the scopes are quite different, the M1 from the M2?

What other 30mm tube diameter scopes do you suppose would work in this application?

Thanks guys for your help.

I sold my right after I bought it, the eye relief is way to close, even more so then an ACOG.
