With all this talk of date stamps, I've never once seen one stamped "HK". Is there a reason for this or are ppl just coveting them that much?

Yep, seen a bunch of them. Most recently was an HK coded HK91 a few months ago. It will, of course, only be found on models made in 1979, so that limits the possibilities to just a few thousand 91s and 1200 or so 93s. I'm not sure of which or how many handguns were made that year that may have the HK date code.

I have an HK date code VP70Z. As stated previously they are not worth any more, but kinda neat. The HK date code was the final straw at me buying the VP70z. It is a mint gun, 98% or better, with box for $400. I already had one but just could not pass the deal up. Only down fall to it is it is SACO marked.
