Way back in 2014 I sold my Coharie SBR, ugh : (
Regretted it ever since.
I filled the void with a CZ Scorpion SBR with a Franklin Armory BFSIII.
It's great, but not roller lock great.

Well, I'm back, picked up a new AP5 this morning.

Damn, trying to get a cheap A3 stock is gonna be a challenge.
I paid about $150-$175 for the one on my Coharie.
If anyone has a lead on a used one that won't leave me bleeding outta my arse, I'd apppreciate a heads up.
Willing to go $300-350 depending on condition for an older ATI 'F' Type A3.

That's what I keep thinking.
The S&B or Magpul telescopic braces would be great hosts for conversions.

I would encourage you to take a look at the Safety Harbor ‘KES’ stock. They do one for both the full sized, and K guns. Stock, or even a brace option. Extremely well made, solid as can be, and one of the least expensive options out there right now for a telescopic tail.

Got my hands on a KAC 99049 optics rail.
Now I need to see if I like my Aimpoint height. It has a riser in it now.

Your best bet closest to the HK A3 stock is the B&T telescopic stock. B&T sells them for both the MP5 and MP5K. I got one for my Z5P. So far so good!

I checked that one out, still kinda high.
Aimpoint has a newer style ring mount, PN 200286, that lets the sight hug the rail, so I’ll probably go with that one.

I like the B&T collapsing stocks unfortunately, the KAC rails on the side extend almost all the way back to the receiver channels on the sides.
I have considered getting one and trimming the rails to fit.

The rise of MP5 manufacturers has rocketed all things HK MP5, collapsing stock included. Never thought I'd see the day where B&T stocks are the "cheap" alternative.
