I'm wondering what will fail or survive as far as red dots are concerned on the PTR/HK 91 because of recoil
I'm guessing a nice solid throw lever is in order no matter what

I'm looking at the vortex spitfire as my first option or aim point pro or possibly eotech 512

If you have any experience with red dots doing well or failing please let me know

I have a spitfire 3x on one of my PTRs and it has held up great. Probably put 600-800 rounds through it with the optic on and no issues. Has a nice fine reticle and mounts lower than other combat optics thanks to the removable spacer which helps a lot. I average about 1.75 inches at 100 yards with it with 1.5 inch groups not being uncommon. Great optic all around.

I like both and I think they are priced within 50-75 of each other...
The aimpoint feels like it's 5 lbs less!

The only thing on the spitfire are those hex nuts with crush washers
I've used dots/scopes before with something similar and the dot never held zero or flew off and that was on a tavor and Sig 556
I need a rock solid mount for sure!

I am sure all those brands will hold up just fine. For reference the military uses EOTechs on machine guns with no issues.
