I am throwing up my hands and surrendering to this firearm.

If it wasn't an anniversary gift to me, from my wife, I would send it on down the road. But since I don't want/can't sell it, and I want to make this thing run I have no choice but to seek out some "professional" help.

I got it about 10 years ago and SBR'ed it right off the bat. I began having most of the known malfunctions with this gun and after doing research on HKPro I began switching out parts. Just about the time I think I found the culprit....the malfunctions would start again.

Well, I have given up and am at my wits end with this thing.

I am seeking out help finding someone who I can send it to for a diagnoses and just pay for the gun to work.

I would like recommendations of someone to work on it for me.

It would help if you provided what the malfunctions you are experiencing are.

Send it to Jeff Walter, Ghilliebear, and stop wasting time on it.....he will get it running.....those guns can be way out of spec and beyond your fixing so don't waste anymore of your time or $$$, send to Jeff

AR15-SBR, I had the exact same problem with my Bobcat. Same as you SBR'd it prior to spending any time with it. I suggest you TRY an HK complete trigger group. That trigger group fixed all my woes... "MP5, 94 SEF Navy Style Trigger Group Semi-Auto Clipped & Pinned"

I was in the same spot as you last summer. My bobcat now eats everything and is the little bullet hose it was meant to be. Feel free to PM me if you need anything else.

I would also highly recommend Jayson at Investment Grade Firearms. When the very first SW5's came out I bought two, and neither ran right. I shipped them off to Jayson and he had them running perfectly in short order. One of my shooting buddies still owns one of them and it's never needed any other work after that.

That being said, I'm sure any of the excellent smiths who specialize in HK's could sort it out for you.

Trigger pack some of those early bobcat weapons has plastic housings or completely out of spec lowers. That's besides the cast bolt heads that fail.

Exotic-Toys, I already did the trigger group swap with Bill Springfield. Swapped for the SEF style while he was doing a trigger job to it.

I just hate to admit that I am in above my head on this one.

I fought an SW5 for months. Sent it to IGF, it came back doing the exact same thing. Sold it.
Jeff is an excellent recommdation, and I'd use him.

Plus 10 on what others have said. Jayson knows his stuff, and has done all my work, for well....since I've been able to buy HK's. Nothing against Jeff....I've just never done any business with him, and I'm certain he knows his sh*t.

This. Jeff got my Special Weapons running like a champ. Part of it had to do with the magazine well being out of spec, resulting in the magazine being seated at the wrong angle.

Sorry Brother! I guess if you've swapped and tried real german parts its time to send to an expert. Don't give up on that "cat"! If you really decide to bail let me know. I'd consider buying it from you.

I've heard great things about both of those smiths (Jeff and Jason). I personally would use Jeff for the repair and Jason for the perfect HK finish if it were me. Just my opinion and not worth more than you're paying for it.

Good luck
