Hello everyone from right smack dab in the middle of the great southern state of Alabama. I’m the proud owner of a brand new 9mm HK P30 DA/SA v3. I just got it home a few days ago so I haven’t taken it out to the range yet. I stripped it down and cleaned the shipping oil off and lubed it up.

I’m a Sig collector and an active member of one of the finest Sig forums on the web. After some research and reading through this forum it appears that I have happened upon the finest HK forums on the web. Great stuff to read here.

I made the following observations about my new p30 and was hoping for some insight from the pro’s. The factory sights are terrible. I ordered some Trijicons and will install them tonight so that’s handled. I’m a self professed trigger snob and the polymer trigger feels so odd to me. Do you guys typically leave the polymer triggers on or replace with metal? Is a metal one even available for this? Other than these small things I love the way it feels in my hands. Seems to be a natural pointer when dry firing. The balance and ergo’s are outstanding.

I own a USP .40 I put maybe 100 rounds through it before my dad insisted on me letting him borrow it. (He’s had it for 3 years now lol) Any recommendations as far as springs, triggers, etc. to help get this trigger better? I will put this in my carry rotation after I train with it and get several hundred rounds through it so I want to keep the double action kinda heavy like the factory weight. It is the non safety model and I’m a right handed shooter. Any advice is greatly appreciated and looking forward to becoming a valuable member of the forum.
Bobby

It's not a polymer trigger. It is a polymer-coated steel trigger. Take a magnet to it and you'll find out for yourself.
Well I’ll be darned....you’re absolutely correct Sir. I appreciate you’re response. Out of curiosity is it coated for any particular reason? Sorry if I sound dumb on this. I like knowing all that I can about my firearms.

Welcome to the site! Go Bama!!! I'm sure you'll enjoy your P30
My wife is a Alabama graduate and huge Alabama fan...our home however is a house divided and I say WDE! I’m not a Bama hater. I’ve learned that “happy wife = happy life” so I respect Bama and believe We’re watching history being made right before our eyes. Can’t argue with what those guys are doing in Tuscaloosa for sure.

I’ve been an avid shooter and collector for many years. I’ve always been a Sig guy and still am. I love the German roots and engineering. As I said earlier I own a USP 40 and didn’t get to shoot it all that much before my dad refused to leave the range without it. He’s had it for around 3 years now. I noticed a week or so back that almost all of the HK handguns (USP excluded) were price cut a decent amount. I decided to buy one while on sale. When I picked the p30 up I knew it was for me. Simply put....it felt right. Like it was custom made for me.

I got the trijicon sights yesterday but didn’t have time to install them. I will post some pictures once I get them installed. Do we have a picture thread here on the forum otherwise known as gun porn lol?

Thanks for all the comments and really hope to be a valuable member here one day.
God Bless
Bobby
