Brass marks near ejection port.

Sorry, if this sounds stupid. I have shot many pistols through my life and I recently became a first time HK owner. After shooting 200rds through my USP I noticed all brass marks near the ejection port. I have never seen this happen with any other pistol I have shot. Is this normal?

I don't see it on most of my pistols other than my Walther PPQ. If it bothers you it can be removed with bore cleaning solvent. I think regular Hoppes NO 9 would remove it if that area was dabbed with it and left on for an hour or so. I used some Pro-Shot coper solvent I had on hand for my PPQ and it did a good job of quickly removing it. Some bore solvents are pretty harsh though so as always read instructions carefully and some can even damage poly frame .
