So from my research the center of the hole for the paddle mag release should be 15.5mm/ .610" straight down from the center of the mag catch hole. I measured and scribed two lines that intersect to that point. However, when I install my clipped trigger group, the hole does not line up with my mark. The trigger pack hole is low and back from my measured center mark. So go with the measurements or the trigger pack location ? It's a Century C93 with a lower I clipped myself. Just checking, you know measure 1,000 times drill once, right. I'm a machinist by trade so I have the skills and tools just need to make sure I'm in the right spot. -Thanks

Wow, no one here has ever installed a paddle release on a HK style rifle. This is HK PRO.com right ? I guess I'll drill to my measured mark and if it's wrong I'll plug and weld and drill again.

Where did you get those numbers?

When I drill them I use a clipped lower to mark my hole. Install, center punch the shelf in the center of the hole, drill it. Never had a problem. I figure there's no better template to mark the hole than an original SEF housing.

The trigger housing would be the one I would give precedence to.

In case you aren't aware, do NOT drill the hole all the way through both sides of the rifle to avoid creating an NFA item.

The numbers (15.5mm/ .610") came from this site and others site from people who had done this conversion. According to the post HK specs are 15.5mm center of mag catch hole to center of paddle release hole. I'll post some pictures tomorrow showing where I'm at. And yes I am aware not to brake through the other side. I plan on doing that side with a 1/8" endmill .

How far off is the hole vs your marks?

Here's a picture. I wonder in the welds are keeping the trigger housing from going fully forward ? Rifle functions fine and fit it good too.

I think you found your problem. That weld isn't normally there. Well, on a push pin gun it isn't.

If you were to of purchased a receiver with a paddle mag already installed, what are the chances your lower would line up....and to what?? There is nothing there that needs to line up.
Your clipped lower is probably different from a lower that someone else may have done, so there's another variable.
Do the guys that do paddle mag releases for a service install every release according to the customers specific lower...of course not.

Install the paddle mag release to function properly for the job it was designed...to push the magazine catch over so your magazine can be removed. Make up a fake push pin to cover the hole on your lower.
