I have a set of Meprolight sights for my MK23. I also have a sight pusher. Is it a simple matter of pushing out the old sights and pushing in the new ones? It is still a safe virgin and I do not want to screw this up.

Why change the sights on a pistol you don't shoot?

That said, the sights may be pushed out of the dovetail, however this may leave a slight marking in the finish in the dovetail slot. Of course, if you make a mistake, you can easily scratch the finish on the slide. If you're unsure, have an experienced gunsmith do the job.

Safe virgin in that up to this point it has been sitting in a safe un-shot. Range day is approaching and it will answer the call to fire then. All my firearms are meant to be shot. Good to know that barring a mistake on my part it is a simple matter of pushing out the old sights and pushing in the new sights.
