1) No perfect one; all have pro's and con's. The go-to as of this past week are (in no order) Trijicon RMR/SRO, Aimpoint ACRO, Steiner MPS and Holosun 509 gen2.

2) CNH precision I believe is who does the HK and other OEM. They're decent, but with the volume they've done, they've had some grumpy customers pop up regarding CS issues

3) IMHO, people overthink the sight thing. Consider them back-ups/secondary. The whole point of the dot is to change your focus to the target; irons prevent that. Indeed, have them for use but don't try to use all sights at once. The dot will be accurately zeroed while your irons will be roughly zeroed. I don't light a lot of glowy/bright stuff on my sights to be distracting...maybe something subdued on the front if it's a policy requirement.


I'll add 4, get to a class with a respectable instructor that understands the dot and can help you take advantage of it. Scott Jedlinski/MSP, Aaron Cowan, Jim Dexter, etc.
Most of the people that give up on the dot don't know how or don't care to put in the effort on learning the nuances of it.

HK factory plates are absolutely NOT made by CHPWS, they are made by HK in Germany, and are much higher quality than anything CHPWS makes. Full stop.
