This is more than cosmetic right? This is copying the HK 416 gas system. I would assume HK has a patent on it?

So if TB can copy it, why aren't other AR makers copying it, you have all of them coming up with different ways to do piston stroked AR, while everyone still believes HK implementation is one of the best. So again, why haven't others copied the HK system before?

G36,

Kind of premature to ask those questions. It will be different once a copy is out in the hands of the public. One big thing I noticed was the gas block is substantially different than most that I have seen.

Time will tell, but I like the idea of better delivery of the Stoner design.

Ok, we won't really know until we see it I guess. The whole thing about HK416 is not the barrel or the furniture, it's about the piston gas system. Unless CA415 copies the HK gas system, it's not a HK416/MR556 clone at all. It's just another pistol driven AR15 that's trying to get into the market. That's really nothing special with everyone and their uncle coming out with piston AR or retrofit piston kits. In this case, the CA415 is probably just as close to Ruger SR556 as it is to MR556.

Not that I'm saying HK 416 solution is the best thing. In fact, more the merrier in terms of AR mfg competitions. I would get the one that's the best solution. Things are really heating up in the AR world.
