I have a steel G3 mag marked "G3 (diamond in a circle) 3 /63". What country used a diamond in a circle?

They're also from Germany. That's the Rheinmetal symbol. Rheinmetal makes lots of BIG German military equipment (tanks and such). Those mags are just as good as anything from HK.

Yes, those are Rheinmetal mags. I just purchased 3 for $4 each brand new in the origional packaging at a local fun show. They are made in Dusseldorf Germany. Mine are also dated 6/64. The construction of the mags is very fine, almost as nice as origional HK mags from the same period.

I have several Rheinmetal Mags as well in varying states of newness. Nice stuff. The bolt carrier in my PTR is from them too and I think it is actually nicer than some HK carriers I have seen. It looks like they machine them from one billet rather than weld a pipe on a block, so to speak. Very informative link, btw, LP.
