Do Hk fans & SIG guys get along?

I'm fairly new and LOVE both...in particular the German made pre 2004 sigs. Wondering if advertising this would get me some sort of "blacklist." I'll give it to HK, they've got some SERIOUS brand loyalty...for good reason IMHO. Although I'm honestly a better shoot with my sig p229 sport than I am w the HK's. That being said the HK p30 is what I keep on the nightstand and my p7 is the preferable CCW...both are better shoots than me, P7 is a fun shooter.

I like my 1911's too...I guess what I'm trying to figure out is does it have to be "HK or bust" or is it Kosher to to have a mistress or 3 on the side...Just as long as its not a Glock :) kidding...sort of

I think it's okay. I think a number of members on this forum have other brands beside HK. I think a good amount of them like their HK's the best... but I see no reason to ban having a mistress (or harem) on the side!
I believe HK USPs and 1911s have the same grip angle, which makes them appealing to most shooters who are fans of one or the other. As for SIGs, most HK fans like their weapons because they are reliable; but, so are SIGs. So, I believe you will find HK and SIG shooters have a lot in common. Personally, I own and love shooting both!!!!!
I'm glad to hear this isn't some abnormality. Most of my buddies that shoot hunt, shotguns, rifles, etc... I love them too, but point is I'm one of the only one w waaay more handguns than long guns, so I know little to nothing about the habits of handgun owners other than myself...and what I see at the gun shows, however, that's typically an extreme sample at the TN gun shows.

Although on the plus side I do get to trade up cool guns w my buddies and shoot my AR at their Riffle spots. I've got a solid in-door range fairly close to the house so that also helps feed the handgun habit, it's a damn viscous cycle.
I own both, but I also argue with myself all the time.

My SIG is an orginal all-German, not of the new conglomerate. Other than it's a tank, I love the gun. My HK's are my carry and home defense. Why the HK's and not the SIG? It was once said to me very eloquently... "If you trust your life to a Glock, great, buy a Glock, it's a good gun. If you can truely trust your life to any given firearm, then who am I to tell you that an HK will be better for you".

I am 100% comfortable trusting my life to an HK. That said, I never had reason to consider trusting my life to my SIG.

On a side note. I have personally changed and handful of bulged barrels in MP5's. I have personally seen a USP45 bulged barrel. I have also personally seen a .40 SIG barrel that was unevenly bugled and split (no fragmentation).

True Dat, well put.
I own both! Great guns! No reason to limit myself simply because of a name! If it's a good weapon? I'm going to own it!!
I have a few guns and recently got an HK rifle. I am adding a Sig next friday. There is another forum similar to this that I also joined last week at sigtalk.com

I don't do bumper stickers or decals so to speak, but I think this would be a good one.
After I bought my p30 I sold all my other handguns and now only own the p30 and a hk45c... and one 1911 but that's cuz it's required to be able to call yourself an American man, other than that 1911 I will never own a pistol that is not an HK. I will have a usp compact some day!
I had an early german Sig P228...owned some 1911's, M&P's...Walther's...., etc.
I've since gotten rid of all of them in favor of Hk's.
The Sig was a terrific handgun. Best DA/SA handgun I've ever owned. But, I've since switched to LEM on my Hk's and I'm through with DA/SA for the sake of continuity.

My Hk's help me sleep at night.
Thanks for the heads up!

Good call on the 1911's?
Just brought home my first Sig tonight actually. A P 225 (made in Germany). Can't wait to try it out. I also want a P 228.

In the immortal words of Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along"?

I do love their triggers, I need to post a pic of the 229 w a compensator...easiest 40 cal I've ever shot.
I hear you brother. Crazy ladies. Anyway, I looked into the Sigs before buying my Expert.. I was interested in the P220 Match Elite (but not CA legal), and also the P226 X-Five, but didn't want to shell out the money without seeing one and shooting one first, especially after reading reviews and talking to Sig owners I know personally. I wanted an HK at the end of the day, but wanted the longer barrel/slide and target sights etc. So I made the right choice and have absolutelZERO regrets going HK.

I posted in another thread that the Sigs I handled (all recently produced US models) didn't feel right to me. The controls I didn't care for either. I have nothing against them and will definitely save a spot in the safe for one at some point.

Post a pic of that 229! Is it the sport model? I think those are the ones that come with compensators.
i'm into H&K roller-locked clones, and Sig pistols
It is...the compensator is pretty sweet. I'll figure out the pic right quick

I will say the SA action is BUTTER, DA is lovely on the sport...if you come across one, GET it. The Comp actually does its job w the 40 S &W
