If you refer to the recoil system that makes up the action of the pistol then yes . Most auto pistols work off some variant of the " falling chamber " action that browing designed for the 1911 and later what became the p35 high power ( others finalised the design of the hp ) HK also made the sole ( as far as i know ) departure from this successfull formula by making the fixed barrel p7 that uses a gas system to retard the action for full power chamberings and thusely having a fixed barrel that greatly aids in accuracy . Sadly the hk p7 format never caught on or got ( imho ) full development of the possiblilitys of the action .
