Early USP 9mm value

Is an early Hk USP 9mm (KD date code) more desirable/less desirable or more sought-after than a later model USP?
What would be the value of a Hk USP with that date code?
The condition is great, except the top of the barrel (chamber) were it contacts the slide, this is a polished surface from being used I would guess.
Also finish on outside of barrel is worn like you would expect.
Thanks for your time.

I doubt the USP will ever move into the "Collector" realm. But I'm not a collector so even a single digit serial number holds no extra value to me. As noted the USP has been product improved continually thru out it's life cycle. Plenty of good, used late models on the market.

Don't fear used police pistols, they're the definition of carried-much shot-little. Seatbelt damage to the grip area of the USP frame is hard to cure so examine that area first. Other holster wear is simply character.
