if this is for a sbr or other nfa related bs DO NOT DIY take it to someone who is familiar with NFA engravings , there is a dept that has to be achieved in order for the engraving be viable , the range I worked at last summer had a guy lose his gun and a bunch or other crap over a non-complaint engraving
