Cheese, It's super easy to do in about one minute or less. You'll notice that on the slide above the extractor is a little hole. Inside that hole is a roll pin. You take a punch that is a little smaller than the hole and place it on the roll pin, and then tap out the roll pin using a small hammer on the punch. If you don't have a punch, or you don't have a small hammer, it is absolutely no problemo. You can use a finish nail of the right size (head first, tap on the pointed end), and you can use anything ya got handy as a small hammer. The roll pin comes out pretty easy. Try to catch the extractor and it's spring as you remove the roll pin so you don't have to go looking on the floor. The extractor is under moderate spring pressure.

Not to go against TooSixy, but I would not oil the roll pin, nor clean it. Once you tap it back in, you want it to stay put. It is not a moving part. The less you mess with it, the better. I have removed and installed my share of 'em. The extractor and it's groove are best oiled and then wiped dry. The reason not to really oil them is because it doesn't usually need it, and because it will only attract more crud if it is wet.
