Looking to buy my first HK handgun for everyday carry, would like to be in 9mm without safety.
I carry a Glock 43X with the 15 rds mag

LEM does not have a safety. Similar to Glock trigger as far as how it is used.

Yes. I carry da/sa, but the LEM should come from the factory with no safety control lever. You may come across used models, with the lever, that were da/sa originally and converted to LEM.

You could also look into the p2000 which is similar. I just prefer the USP, though the p2000 does feel great in the hand and is just as reliable.

A USP9 compact is G19-sized, and you can use VP9 magazines to bump it up to 17 rounds.
The VP9SK would be the closest in size that HK has as far as striker guns go, and HK will soon-ish be releasing an optics-ready VP9SK.

I’m enjoying the USPc very much right now. I’ve made a few attempts to swap it out but before I leave the house I end up tucking the USPc in. It just feels good….
