I just purchased my first HK branded weapon, an HK SL7 with 05 scope mount and 5 mags. If I wanted to put a period correct optic on the rifle what would that be? ZF??? Thanks in advance.

UPDATE! (02 Mar 17)

It's an IE date code rifle, 1984, and the internals are like new. I was able to source a 4x32 Zeiss DIATAL-C, Made in West Germany, to go along with the rifle. I'll have it out on the range soon to dial it in and see what it will do.

Beautiful package! You might have to take the top hand guard off to see the date code. Is that a B-Square rail in the one baggie and an A.R.M.S. rail in the other? Nice you got a manual with it also. An original can run you 40-$50.

An older Zeiss or Swarovski in a straight 4 or 6 power would be correct. Just be mindful of the rear sight. the scopes eye piece has to clear it. The Leupold 3-9 Compacts fit with no problem.

Yes. Package contained 3 mounting options for the optics. I was very happy to get the 05 scope mount and the extra mags. I'm tracking some only Zeiss, 1" tube, scopes on gunbroker now. The rifle may make an appearance in a deer hunt this fall!
