I've heard it applied to blackpowder guns, i think it's a term that just sort of gets thrown around to describe the corrosion pattern you may commonly see on firearms.
Flash Pitting?
Can someone explain what flash pitting is, exactly? From the sound of it, I'm guessing its some kind of pitting near the muzzle due to heat? Is it common?
