I'm aware it means it has to go back to an FFL and others things, but I'm also aware that I am way beyond my ability in trying to bend a flat.

Other quick question from a properly bent flat, how hard is it to finish the build with parts (keeping mind 922r) vs finishing it from a barreled receiver and parts?

In my unexperienced opinion- if you are finishing it from a barreled receiver, might as well have the smith who bent the flat, pressed the barrel/trunion finish it out and check for any problems. Save you time and possibly money. Personally I would feel better knowing one guy built it from start to finish, tested it out to make sure it runs good, etc.
