What's the easiest way to go about building a G28 clone?

Lol this could be a good thread.

But without throwing shade.

Parts and rifle cost about $6700 two years ago
All oem Hk ral8k

Paint / reprofiling / engraving 650$ a year ago

G28 Imported optic / mount $5600 6 months ago still waiting on EU export approval 8-10 months expected

13,000-14,000 ish with some other random things along the way.

Be happy to answer any questions. Even point you to some part vendors outside the US.

I'm doing one right now. I'm building it myself. and I'm on some what of a budget.
I've been watching gunbroker, and other classifieds for parts and then i do web searches for all the parts too. some of the parts I've had to buy off of websites in Europe. so shipping takes a little longer.

to start i educated myself on all the parts i would need and looked up what the pricing would be from HK or distributors. If something i needed was in stock at the time, i bought it right away because it wouldn't be available for long. and buying it from HK or a reputable dealer is usually the best price you'll ever see on it. Then everything that was out of stock, i made note of what the price was so then when i found something on a classified or gunbroker i would immediately know if it was good deal or a total rip off. like the bolt dust cover, i found it brand new for like $35 but on gunbroker someone is selling it for like $200. no thanks. But then like my handguard, (damn they are expensive) I was hoping to watch the classifieds and find someone selling one for cheap, but NOPE, it was out of stock everywhere i looked. and all the classified adds wanted $100-$200 more than retail for it. then one day i stumbled on this web site that i had not seen before (in the UK) and they had a few genuine HK G28 and MR308 handguards, at the time I knew it was a rare find because everywhere else i looked was out of stock. and i knew what the prices were for the one or two of them on gunbroker, so bought it right away from the web site in in the UK. shipping wasnt bad. all in i'm still cheaper than gunbroker ones. Man it was expensive, but its the real thing, and the right color. i had to have it. so yeah if you find a rare item, and the price is barrable. snatch it up asap because it will be gone before you can grab the lube and bend over. LOL it hurts, this stuff is so excessive but damn its cool and its worth it. no regrets. i have wanted this rife for years and now in my hands and coming together.
So far I've been able to find just about every part i need and in the right color too. I'm almost there and my upper and lower will be the only parts i need to Cerakote in the RAL8000 (i think ).
I'm shooting for around Christmas to have it completed.
