G3 Furniture Paint matching
Hey folks,
I purchased and refinished a G3 Wood stock set and would like to clean up the paint job on the hardware to complete the set. The stock hardware is just normal parkerizing, I may or may not paint this part. But the Handguard hardware looks to be just paint over bare metal. The original paint is the semi-glossy black that I would like to match.
I'm hoping to get some good input on removing the existing paint, and what paint I should use to repaint it. I'd like something more durable than your average-joe black enamel, but still has the look of the original HK paint. It can't go in the oven for the sake of the wood.
If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Now THAT is nice.Duracoat in HK Black. =)
I didn't think Duracoat had a gloss paint that matched HK. I'll see if I can get a setup going with a spray can to try it out.
DuraCoat now sells kits ready to go including sprayer... pick your shade/finish of black... or pink. :biggrin:
