Picked up a few sets from RTG to mess around with. After stripping the finish one has nice grain. The other was just a dark piece of wood. As soon a I pick up a 93 backplate, one of these is going on my MP5.

I modified the handguard and it's a real pain in the butt. The shaping of the wood underneath requires dremel time. The metal caps still need repainted. I had low expectations when i saw the grain on the red one but the color went on nice and it looks even better in person.

The handguard that matches the other stock isn't finished yet. It's still going through the stainning and tru-oil process.

I didn't think refinishing was going to take this long to be quite honest but the finish was very tough. Lots of stripper, steaming dents, cloth steaming the color out, and sanding.
