Tom did a great job with mine as well. Since the conversion I've put about 1500 rounds of XM193 or XM855 thru her without a problem. The mag release/bolt release are also great additions.

So much lighter than the MR556

Looks good. Glad to see Tommy back in the mix. Talked with him a bit while I was down in his neck of the woods... He's got some exciting things in the pipeline... Stay tuned!

Just to be safe - does the piston have the rings on it? When I did my conversion, I forgot to swap the rings to the US-made psiton. Had the same type of malfunctions you are having, with any ammo.
Once the rings were in palce shot any ammo, even the low power (the range only allowed to shoot ammo below 2000 fps)- never a hickup
+1 to that. Haven't weighed the MR lately, but after VFG, rail covers and ACOG, I'm in the low-mid 9lbs

Thanks! I was able to put 20 rounds of Tulammo through yesterday with less than stellar performance. I kept having FTF's which I believe is due to short stroking because of the relatively weak Tulammo. It also wouldn't lock back on the last round the few times I tried, though it will lock back on an empty mag when I manually cycle it. To me, more evidence for short stroking. Tul works GREAT in my MR but I guess nato spec only for this guy. I'll keep you posted though, hopefully sometime before next weekend I'll be able to bring her out for more.

Fatmat27;

Which load did your rifle prefer in terms of accuracy?
never measured at any respectable distance and nor have I put it on a bag/bipod, just some good ole' poseur range fun:) Hopefully this year I'll be able to take it somewhere past 25 yards.

reliability however has been 100% with Federal XM193 and Winchester SM855

Ringer,
still 20" barrel?
